In Honour and Memory of Debra Symes

The Hanoverian Breeders Club of Western Canada and the Canadian Hanoverian Society were dealt a blow this past weekend. Longtime member Debra (Debs) Symes passed away on Saturday. Debs, along with Heather Smith were the co-owners of Thelma and Louise Sport Horses. They travelled to Germany to research stallions, attended breed orientations and of course, tried a glass (or two) of wine. The two of them were working to improve the Hanoverian breed here in Alberta. There wasn’t a thing that Debs wouldn’t try, as she was a “jack of all trades”. They brought laughter and enthusiasm to any venue. She will be dearly missed.
