Hanover’s best three-year-olds on the catwalk … Herwart von der Decken-Show in Verden

The Herwart von der Decken-Show will be held in Verden on Wednesday, August 1. The best three-year-old Hanoverian mares will compete for oak wreath and award ribbons at the Hanoverian Mare Show.
Approx. 100 competitors are expected to come, all of them having already confirmed their qualities at regional mare shows. The Mare Show is the attractive opening of the International Dressage and Show Jumping
Festival, held on the occasion of the World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses.

The show will start at 10.00 am with the show jumping mares. The free jumping under the open sky in the fantastic dressage arena promises stunning performances. Then those three-year-olds will compete on the
triangle whose pedigrees carry the best Hanoverian dressage genes. Final highlight will be the division of halfbred mares. The best mares of their division will be presented in the finals to nominate the winner
and reserve winner of the Herwart von der Decken-Show. Judges will be representatives of the Hannoveraner Verband, the successful American dressage instructor Scott Hassler and the German show jumping rider
Gilbert Boeckmann.

The Herwart von der Decken-Show is an absolute necessity for breeders and horse people, and it has been developing into a true crowd puller in the past years. The international interest is constantly increasing. The
three-year-olds will assemble and act as fascinating quality indicator for the Hanoverian breed.
