Futurist won an international jumping class at the 2006 Spruce Meadows Masters in Calgary and has now been shown successfully in the Regular Working Hunters. He is a son of double Olympic Gold Medal Champion and 2000 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year, For Pleasure, one of the most successful producers of international show jumpers. Futurist excelled in his Stallion Performance Test, achieving high marks in both the rideability and the jumping phases of the test. After winning show jumping ability classes as a four- and five-year-old in Germany, Futurist continued his very successful jumping career in North America. In 2001, he won several six-year-old show jumping classes in Florida and North Carolina. He then swept the Jumper Development Series in Canada, winning the Ontario Championships, the Eastern Finals and the National Finals at the Royal Winter Fair. In 2004, Futurist was the Ontario Open Jumper Champion under Erynn Ballard, a major success as Ballard only met the stallion at horse shows and did not train him throughout the year. In 2006, Futurist had another successful year with Ballard, the highlight, winning an international class at the prestigious Spruce Meadows Masters. Futurist exemplifies the modern type Hanoverian performance horse. His offspring are typically rather refined, with good movement and excellent scope and technique over jumps. Futurist has produced several Royal Winter Fair Champion line horses. His oldest crop of foals in North America turned eight in 2010 and has performed well in hunter, jumper and equitation classes. Most notably, Fabiana W was the 2008 USEF Zone Champion for six-year-olds and has placed in the top three in smaller Grand Prix classes as a seven-year-old in 2009. Both cooled and frozen semen is available. Semen can be shipped from Canada into the U.S. without any restrictions or permits.
