| Mare
performance tests have become an important
part measure in the Hanoverian breed and most
newly registered mares participate. The basic
gaits, jumping talent and the mare’s
rideability are tested by and invited test
rider. Individual scores are given from 0(not
performed ) to 10(excellent). The final certificate
contains an overall total score and after
passing the test each mare will receive a
stall plaque and test certificate. The judges
are representatives of the Hanoverian Verband.
The test is voluntary
except for owners who wish their mares to
be considered as an Elite Mare Candidate.
If you are interested in having your mare
tested, please notify your local breeding
club to arrange it. The test fee will be
collected on the day of the test. In Western
Canada the mare performance test usually
takes place prior to the Studbook Inspection.
